Q: What age can students begin lessons?

A: We welcome kids, adults, and seniors. For children, it varies depending on the instrument.

Q: Where are the lessons held?

A: We have our own Mountain Music School building (3500 St. Elmo Ave.) just behind the main Mountain Music retail store. Enroll at the retail store.

Q: How do I get started?

A: When you fill out the enrollment form, we will look at the teacher's availability and you can choose which time slot works best with your weekly schedule. A credit card is kept on file for monthly payments.

Q: Is there any long term commitment?

A: No, we only require payment a month at a time. Students may cancel at any time; however, there are no refunds for partial months.

A: With 24 hours notice, we allow 1 excused absence per 2 month period. A makeup (if available) or lesson credit will be given.

Q: Are there any other costs involved?

A: Yes, we hold a recital each spring as a chance for students to get experience performing for a live audience.

A: No. Approximately every 3rd month students will get a 5th lesson at no extra charge.

Q: Do I need to bring my own instrument to the lessons?

A: For smaller instruments like guitar and violin the answer is yes. We provide a piano and drum set for piano and drum students. Amplifiers are provided for electric guitar and bass students. All students must remember to bring their written materials.

Q: What if I need an instrument?

A: Mountain Music not only sells instruments but also offers affordable rent-to-own options.

Q: Can I pay by the lesson instead of by the month?

A: Out of respect for the teacher's schedule, we need payment a month at a time.

Q: I have 2 children learning the same instrument, can they take lessons together?

A: We currently only offer individual instruction because each student not only learns at a different pace, they learn different concepts at different paces.
